Hey there. My name is Kara (duh) and I am an art director with an eye for design and a mind for concepting.

I am a confessed perfectionist and am never happy until my work crosses the line from good to great.

I graduated from Virginia Tech with a BFA in Visual Communication Design. I also completed a minor in Art History that so far has only come in handy on trivia night.

Because I loved school so much, I went on to graduate school at the VCU Brandcenter. After receiving my master’s from the VCU Brandcenter in Art Direction, I joined MullenLowe in Boston. While there, I worked on brands like JetBlue, American Greetings and Barnes & Noble. After realizing that Boston was really cold (and lobster is really good), I moved to Charlotte and began working at a smaller agency I’d always admired called BooneOakley. While at BooneOakley, I’ve worked with brands such as  Bojangles’, Feetures, Charlotte Hornets and an amazing non-profit called Purple Heart Homes.

I have a fine arts background and love to flex my skills away from the trackpad. I love to learn new things and recently have taught myself how to screen print. I also have an Etsy store that sells map line art and hand painted wooden signs. Alright, enough about me.
